Supporting a better future for aged care
Why we welcome the delay to the new Aged Care Act
At BlueCare, we’re here to support you through every change – especially those changes that aim to improve the aged care system and the quality of care you receive.
The Australian Government is making once-in-a-generation reforms to aged care, focused on building a system that’s high-quality, respectful and truly centred on your rights. These changes are part of a new Aged Care Act that was due to start on 1 July 2025, that the Government has now delayed the start date of 1 November 2025.
This short pause gives us – and other aged care providers – more time to prepare properly for our customers. That means we can continue to delivering safe, consistent care while making sure we’re ready to transition to the new Act from 1 November, 2025.
We support this decision wholeheartedly. As a provider, we know that thoughtful, well-prepared implementation is key to delivering care that puts you first. The new Act includes a Statement of Rights and Principles, which will guide how we work and make decisions with you – and we want to make sure we get this right.
BlueCare has been caring for Queenslanders for more than 70 years, and we welcome reforms that strengthen your voice and your rights. We’re committed to continuing to improve the care you receive, and we thank you for your patience as we work together through this change.
The goal is clear – a more respectful, person-centred aged care system. And with this short delay, we’re better placed to achieve it together.
