This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, stored and disclosed through the BlueCare HomeCare App.
Where the app integrates with UnitingCare Queensland systems (including care management and customer relationship platforms), the handling of personal information is also subject to UnitingCare Queensland’s broader Privacy Policy and other collection Notices.
We may collect:
• Personal information (e.g. name, email address, phone number, BlueCare Id)
• Service and interaction data
• Device and technical information
• Information from third parties, such as authorised representatives, care providers, or integrated service systems
We collect personal information to:
• enable functionality of the BlueCare HomeCare App, including accessing care information, updates, and service communications
• provide and manage aged care services
• support care planning and delivery
• communicate with you and care teams
• meet legal and regulatory obligations
• provide app related support (Technical and Non-Technical)
We collect information through the Bluecare HomeCare app when you register, use features, or communicate with us, and from authorised representatives or third parties where permitted.
We may collect information where required by law, including under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Aged Care Act 2024 (Cth). If you do not provide required information, you may be unable to use the Bluecare HomeCare app. We may also collect personal information with your consent, including when you register for and use the BlueCare HomeCare App.
We disclose personal information only where necessary to support care delivery, app functionality, regulatory compliance, payment processors or service operations.
Some personal information may be stored or processed by approved third‑party service providers in overseas locations such as the United States or United Kingdom.
We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including through the use of secure systems, encryption, access controls, monitoring, and staff confidentiality obligations.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to support care delivery, app functionality, and to meet legal, regulatory and operational obligations, including under applicable health and aged care laws.
When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de‑identify it. In some cases, data may be retained for minimum periods required by law, after which it is securely disposed of.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or make a complaint about how your information is handled.
