Express your creativity through painting, knitting, photography, woodwork, pottery, or any other art form.
Entry Deadline: 26th September 2025
Winners Announced: 24th October 2025
The winning submissions will then feature in the 2026 BlueCare calendar.
The BlueCare 2026 calendar competition is open now. Entry submissions close on Friday 26th September with winners announced no later than Friday 24th October 2025.
This competition is open to all current residents of BlueCare Retirement Living & Residential Aged Care Communities. We also welcome entrants from our Respite Centres and those receiving care from BlueCare Community Services.
Yes, we will accept entries from groups.
You can take part in the BlueCare Calendar competition by submitting an entry. The submission process is easy, just follow these 3 steps:
Step 1: Create a piece of art that reflects how you “celebrate every moment” as part of the BlueCare family.
Step 2: Take a photo or “photos” of your artwork.
Step 3: Submit your entry form and artwork online, or via email, or you are also able to post your entry in with completed entry form. If you are having difficulties completing the entry step, please chat to your Village Manager or Residential Services Manager and they will be able to assist you.
The judging panel will be a selection of BlueCare executives and managers.
The winners will be notified by telephone no later than 24th October 2025 and then public announcements will be made via BlueCare social media channels.
The BlueCare judging panel will select a minimum of 14 successful entries. These entries will then form the featured artwork for each month of the calendar. There may be some pages where we feature multiple pieces of artwork. The calendar will then be printed and distributed to all BlueCare residents (Retirement Living, Aged Care, Respite/Community) by the end of December 2025.
We want the competition to be accessible for everyone regardless of where you live. By judging the submissions via a photo, it means we are judging on a level playing field. If we feel that the photo is not portraying the artwork fairly then we will contact the artist and help you to upload alternative photos.
Make sure you take the photo of your artwork against and on a plain white background where possible. Ie white wall and sitting on a white surface (white paper works fine). We want to see what you have created and not the surroundings. However if it’s a photo of a garden sculpture etc and it needs to be in situ, then try to get as clear a photo as possible.
Feel free to take as many photos as possible that you feel shows off your creation. Just remember though that you can’t exceed 10mb in file size.
