Become a friend to an elderly person who is lonely
Do you have a little time to make a big difference to the life of a resident in an aged care home?
It is quite common that some residents living in aged care facilities may be socially isolated and lonely. Having someone who cares enough to make a regular visit can make a real difference to these people.
You could make that difference by becoming a friendly visitor to a resident in a local aged care home and visiting once a week or fortnight.
You will be linked to a resident with similar interests and with whom you can spend time reading, chatting, listening to music or getting involved in a favourite activity.
This opportunity is currently available in Gladstone, Yeppoon, Rockhampton and Gracemere.
