Personal Carer Job Description

In home care, an aged care workers’ duties and responsibilities might include domestic tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, meal preparation, cleaning indoor windows, washing dishes, changing bed linen, washing clothes, ironing, cleaning bathrooms and fridges. Outside the home, personal carers might provide social support, such as shopping, banking, and taking clients to appointments.

BlueCare Personal Carers will assist with hygiene, such as showering, dressing, grooming, mobility and eating and drinking, as well as supporting clients to participate in community activities and attend appointments.

As a BlueCare Personal Carer you will play a key part in observing any changes or concerns with your clients’ health, wellbeing or behaviour.

A day in the life of an aged care worker

Drive to Mrs Jones’ home, where I sign on and start my day. Change and wash her bed linen, and empty her dishwasher. Hang out the washing, sweep and mop the floors.
Drive to visit Mr Peters collect his shopping list and money, complete his grocery shopping and upon returning home, help put his groceries away.

    Yes. You need to have a full drivers licence and an insured car.

  • What training is provided?

    We provide a comprehensive orientation and onboarding experience and also offer a Personal Carer Traineeship Program. You can complete your Certificate 3 Individual Support.
