One thing worth saying plainly: You buy into a village here, you don't rent.
You'll see the word lease in our contracts, and it's fair enough to read that as renting — it isn't. A lease here means you pay an ingoing contribution once, the home is yours for as long as you want it, and most of that money comes back when you leave. No weekly rent, no landlord deciding whether you can stay.
Which does mean it isn't the right fit for everyone, and we'd rather you knew now than after a phone call. If renting is what you're after, here's where to start looking instead — a different part of the housing system, with people who do it far better than we would.

Yes — pets are welcome with prior approval. Have a chat with the village team before you move in so everything can be sorted.
Absolutely. Friends and family are welcome to stay. For longer visits, it’s best to check with the village manager first.
If you’re moving in on your own, you need to be at least 60. For couples, one person must be 60 or over and the other at least 55.
Yes, there are areas for caravan and boat storage, subject to availability, along with space for other leisure vehicles.
Yes. Homes and community facilities have access to a 24-hour monitored emergency response system.
Usually, yes. Just have a chat with the village manager first so any changes meet the right standards and requirements.
No, there isn’t a nursing home within the village, but BlueCare aged care and other support services are available in the Townsville area.
Yes. If you need a little extra help, home care services can be delivered in your home, from everyday assistance through to more personal support. You can choose the provider that suits you.
There is a Peace of Mind Guarantee. If you decide to leave within three months of your lease starting, your ingoing contribution is refunded and the exit fee is waived. You’ll still need to cover the usual village charges for the time you were there, along with any applicable costs.
Townsville summers are hot, humid and part of life in North Queensland. The trade-off is the long stretch of warm, sunny weather through the rest of the year. If you’re moving from further south, it’s worth visiting at different times of year and asking residents what they find works best.
