BlueCare celebrates five years with the Retirement Living Code of Conduct

BlueCare is proud to celebrate five years as a subscriber to the Retirement Living Code of Conduct, reflecting our ongoing commitment to quality, transparency and positive resident experiences across our Queensland retirement communities.
Great retirement living starts with trust, connection and a commitment to doing things well, every day.
For five years, BlueCare’s participation in the Retirement Living Code of Conduct has supported our focus on creating welcoming communities where residents feel informed, respected, connected and at home.
The voluntary industry Code establishes standards for the operation and management of retirement villages and is designed to promote accountability, integrity and consistently positive resident experiences. It is independently governed and endorsed by the Property Council of Australia and Ageing Australia.
What the Code means for residents
The Retirement Living Code of Conduct provides a framework that helps participating operators maintain high standards throughout every stage of the resident experience—from considering and moving into a community to living there and eventually leaving.
The Code promotes:
- the interests of current and future residents
- clear and transparent marketing, contracts and ongoing obligations
- consistently high standards across village operations
- open and efficient processes for resolving concerns
- accountability and responsible industry practices
- greater confidence, diversity and choice for residents.
These principles align strongly with the way BlueCare supports residents and communities across Queensland.
Creating communities where people feel at home
Across BlueCare’s retirement villages and more than 2,000 independent living units, our teams are committed to delivering quality experiences for residents every day.
That commitment is reflected in the big things, such as clear communication, responsible village management and well-maintained environments, as well as the everyday moments that make a community feel welcoming.
It can be seen in the friendly conversations, community activities, resident-led initiatives and connections that help people continue living life their way.
Our participation in the Code reinforces the standards and values that guide this work, while providing an additional layer of accountability for residents and their families.
Independent oversight and accountability
Compliance with the Code is overseen by an independent Code Review Panel, whose members bring experience in dispute resolution. The Panel works with the Code Administrator to support the Code’s effectiveness, oversee relevant matters and help maintain confidence in participating retirement communities.
This independent governance is an important part of ensuring the Code remains meaningful and supports continuous improvement across the retirement living sector.
Proud of the people behind this achievement
Reaching five years as a Code subscriber is an achievement made possible by the people who bring these commitments to life every day.
We thank our residents, team members and partners for helping create communities built on trust, respect, belonging and quality.
We also congratulate fellow Code subscribers who continue to uphold high standards and support positive experiences for older Australians across the retirement living sector.
