Costs and inclusions at Sunrise Beach Aged Care

We understand that navigating the costs of residential aged care can feel overwhelming. At Sunrise Beach Aged Care, we’re here to guide you through your options and help you make an informed choice.

The cost of aged care is made up of three main components, and what you pay will depend on your individual circumstances. These include:

Basic daily fee
This fee is set by the Australian Government and helps cover your day-to-day care, including meals, cleaning, and laundry. Everyone entering aged care is required to pay this fee. This fee is equivalent to 85 percent of the basic aged pension ($65.55 a day at present). Like the aged pension, it is indexed with increases every March and September.

Accommodation costs
This is the cost of your room and amenities. Depending on your financial situation, you may pay:

  • The full accommodation cost,

  • A Government-subsidised amount, or

  • A combination of both.

Our team can assist you in understanding what you may be eligible for.

Means tested fees
These fees cover hotelling and healthcare needs. Your contribution may vary based on your financial situation, increasing with wealth. There are caps in place to prevent excessive costs.

Higher everyday living services
At Sunrise Beach, you can choose to enhance your experience with additional premium lifestyle services available for an extra fee. These offerings include amenities and conveniences designed to help you feel more comfortable and at home. Once you have entered the home, we will discuss Higher Everyday Living Services with you.

You have flexibility in how you choose to pay for your accommodation, with three options available:

Refundable accommodation deposit (RAD): A lump-sum payment that is refundable when you leave (less the retention percentage retained as per the Government guidelines and less any deductions you agree with the aged care home).

Daily accommodation payment (DAP): A rental-style payment made daily. This is indexed twice yearly.

Combination payment: A mix of both RAD and DAP, tailored to suit your budget.

Let's talk about your options
We are committed to making the process as simple as possible. Contact us today to discuss your circumstances and get personalised advice about your care options and costs at Sunrise Beach Aged Care.

The Australian Government may subsidise some of your costs depending on your financial situation. You’ll need to complete an income and assets assessment to determine your eligibility.
