
BlueCare will transition its aged care services to a new legal entity, UnitingCare Queensland Limited trading as BlueCare, with a new ABN 84 675 001 493. UnitingCare Queensland moved all its operations to the new entity on 1 July 2024, with BlueCare the last to transition - from 1 September 2025.
This change will not impact how BlueCare delivers care. Our staffing, governance, quality and operational arrangements will remain the same. Our aged care services will continue trading under BlueCare.
UnitingCare Queensland Limited ABN 84 675 001 493 is a company limited by guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) established as an incorporated institution of the Uniting Church in Australia Queensland Synod. Our new structure is designed to enable UnitingCare’s hospitals, aged care, disability services, family and community services and retirement living to operate together in a fit-for-purpose legal structure.
This change marks a significant milestone in the commitment to enhance our operational efficiency and long-term sustainability, so we can deliver on our mission and purpose into the future.
There will be no change to the services customers receive from BlueCare. Care and accommodation arrangements will not change, and there will be no change to BlueCare teams delivering care. The cost of care will also not be impacted.

While the terms of your Agreements with us will not be changed, the name of the entity providing services under your agreement will change from:

All direct debit authorisations will automatically be linked to UnitingCare Queensland Limited and continue to be effective. No action is required if you have already given us a direct debit authorisation.
There is no change to our bank account details or payment of our invoice via credit, BPay or Post Billpay.
To transition BlueCare's aged care services to our new legal entity and ABN, we are required to transfer our residential and home care services to a new aged care approved provider number for UnitingCare Queensland Limited. Due to this transfer, the Star Ratings for our residential services will not be available for 12 months. This reflects the policy and advice of the Department of Health and Aged Care. However, the results of their assessments will be available as they are completed.
