Blue Care welcomes release of Aged Care Royal Commission Final Report
Blue Care, Queensland’s largest not-for-profit aged care provider, today welcomed the release of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety’s final report (“The Report”).
Blue Care Group Executive Cathy Thomas said, “As the largest not-for-profit provider of aged care services in Queensland, Blue Care stands ready and willing to work with Federal policy makers to improve the quality, safety, accessibility, and sustainability of Australia’s aged care system.
“Blue Care was very pleased to make a meaningful contribution to the Royal Commission’s important work over the past two years.
“As a Registered Nurse myself, I know first-hand that our frontline aged care workers are driven by a desire to serve, and we commend our entire Blue Care workforce for the role they continue to play in caring compassionately for the most vulnerable people in our community.
“We look forward to the Federal Government’s full response to The Report in the May Budget,” said Ms Thomas.
Ahead of the May Federal Budget, Blue Care is urging Queenslanders to support the National Aged Care Collaboration’s “It’s time to care about aged care” campaign and sign its online petition that calls for meaningful reform of Australia’s aged care system: www.careaboutagedcare.org.au
