UnitingCare Queensland speaks out about residential aged care funding
UnitingCare Queensland is concerned about the critical inadequacy of funding for residential aged care and the potential impacts for older people, their families, the community and the aged care industry. The recently released UnitingCare Queensland position paper "Crunch Time for residential aged care funding" outlines the major challenges of declining viability, insufficient capital funding and faulty funding indexation. The impacts on older people are also discussed.
UnitingCare Queensland calls on the Australian Government to act urgently to implement significant reform to aged care policy and funding.
