Volunteers

Blue Care is extremely fortunate to have the support of over 2,500 volunteers who generously donate their time and talents to our services.

Trained volunteers have an important role within Blue Care by supporting clients through social contact and with direct assistance with everyday activities such as reading, music, transport etc.

The invaluable support provided by our volunteers helps maintain clients' quality of life.

Volunteers can assist with the activities such as:

Support visits: Visiting clients on a regular basis and providing social support and practical assistance.
Friendly sitting: Providing in-home respite care for families and carers.
Palliative care: Providing social support and practical assistance for families where a member of the family has a terminal illness.
Transport assistance: Using their own vehicles to transport clients to shops, medical appointments and other outings.
Respite Caring centres: Assisting in recreational activities, such as music, excursions, arts and crafts, meal preparation, concerts etc.
Residential complex: Assisting clients and staff with recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, sewing, music, gardening and canteen.
Marketing volunteers: Assisting staff with marketing and fundraising activities, such as Blue Care Awareness Week, Seniors Week, distribution of Blue Care leaflets, and clerical assistance.
Clerical assistance: Assisting staff at centres with data entry, photocopying, filing etc.
