Carer Respite Centres
Blue Care recognises the importance of providing a support network
for carers to access when they require a break. Blue Care manages
five Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres throughout Queensland: Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba, Robina and Ipswich.
If you do not live in these areas, we are able to place you in contact
with your closest carer respite service.
The Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre works in partnership with carers
to provide:
- Information and advice about respite care and other support services
for carers
- Referral to appropriate local and regional service providers
- Funding for respite care in emergency or one off planned care
situations. For example if you become ill and unable provide to
care, or to allow you to attend a special event or family function
- A residential respite booking service
- Funding for respite for carers of people with challenging behaviours

Carer Respite Centre for information or to discuss their needs.

You may prefer to talk with your local respite service, home nursing,
or community health service about your needs as a carer. They may
be able to directly assist you or can contact us for information on
your behalf.
Blue Care is also funded to provide dementia specific respite services
in north Queensland, south west Queensland, and west Moreton.
