Our Care Matters

Supporting people to remain independent for as long as possible is our passion.

Blue Care began life as the Blue Nursing Service in 1953 when our first Blue Nurse, Olive Smith, started her duties from West End (Brisbane). Since then we have been caring for people who are too sick or too frail to care for themselves, and those who have a disability or need emergency respite. We care for them in the comfort of their own home or in our community and aged care facilities.

Blue Care provides daily living support to more than 12,500 people every day, in the form of nursing, allied health (podiatry, physiotherapy, speech pathology, and occupational therapy), personal care, domestic assistance, respite and social support.

What is Awareness Week?

Blue Care Awareness Week, June 16-22, is a seven day event where our organisation, as a whole, actively promotes its work and services to local communities, businesses, media and relevant government and healthcare stakeholders.

With your help, Blue Care will not only bring quality care into the homes and hearts of Queenslanders throughout the state, it will help support other vital Blue Care services.

You, your work place, social club, sporting group, family and friends can go blue and help celebrate Blue Care Awareness Week.

As a not-for-profit organisation, donations and fundraising initiatives help us continue our vital work.
